An exploration of biases and preconceptions in generative art

One of the challenges of generative art is the issue of bias. Generative algorithms are often designed by humans, and as a result, they can reflect and perpetuate our biases and preconceptions.

Biases can manifest in different ways in generative art, such as in the type of data used to train the algorithms or the algorithms' design itself.

The perpetuation of stereotypes, prejudices, and other harmful beliefs is a significant consequence of biased generative algorithms. For example, an algorithm that generates images of people may result in images that are predominantly of one race or gender, reinforcing the stereotype that only certain types of people are worthy of representation.
